2017: In Rupiahs it’s nothing. Then we talk about a negligible amount. But as a year it puts more weight on the scale. With the closing of two thousand sixteen Kolewa foundation can look back on ten eventful years. Years in which a lot of work has been done, a lot of successes were reached, years in which your support proved essential, disappointments had to be processed and occasionally a tear was shed.

2017: a new year full of challenges is announced. A year with a good start. When you read this, the new website of foundation Kolewa has been launched. A site full of information, beautiful images and a mission we are proud of. Our mission speaks almost for itself: give children and young adults a place for themselves in society, reach out to a medical treatment or special education. An opportunity for those who are isolated by their disability, to open the door to a better Future: THEIR FUTURE.

2017: A sense of great responsibility. Kolewa Foundation has a fantastic Indonesian team, a well motivated management,a waiting list of patients and the ambition to offer more and better education to deaf children in Karangasem and Lovina. To organize, execute and ensure we perform excellent. In fundraising we invest a lot of time together.However, the necessary amount is much more than two thousand seventeen rupiah, dollars or euros. 2017: We go for it! Strengthen what we have built, expand partnerships with local field partners, transfer knowledge and build bridges.

2017: Now, on this site, I will regularly surprise you from Bali with beautiful and moving stories from the everyday life of a CEO /volunteer in a developing country, stationed in Bali. An island for many only known as a holiday paradise, but as so often, it has the semblance of prosperity, but poverty reigns …. Seventeen thousand: Let’s create a fantastic year TOGETHER!
