Also, children with other medical problems are coming our way, like Enjelina, a girl with a huge tumour on her jaw. This started to grow when she was 7 years old. When we met her ten years later, her situation was unbearable. In Bali she got a surgery and an intensive post-treatment. Children like Enjelina sometimes stay in our shelter for up to half a year or more.
And recently we were able to help another girl, named Enggelina living on Sumba, with a similar illness. Rambu Nona Nula, a seven-year-old girl, was born with meningococcal. Mostly in the form of a waterhead of “open back” but at her revealed in her face.
And Arlensi and Wellem. Both born with Down syndrome and anus-atresia: a congenital condition of which the anus is not (properly) in place.
